2008 Customer Conference Updates
Group 1 Software, Inc. is holding its 27th annual Customer Conference from May 21 – 23, 2008 at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. The four following tracks will be featured at the conference:
Mailing Efficiency
Meeting postal compliance will change significantly by January 2009 because of the the United States Postal Service’s (USPS) Intelligent Mail Barcode (IMB) requirements. Don’t miss out on gaining the information you need to make knowledgeable decisions regarding your organization’s implementation of IMB while leveraging current mail production investments.
No doubt, a greater understanding of the benefits of ‘Basic vs. Full Service’ will ensure you make the right choices for achieving IMB compliance in a successful, timely and cost effective manner. This track provides you the insight to meet the 2009 USPS IMB regulatory requirements as well as increasing address quality, reducing costs and supporting future Intelligent Mail initiatives. Don’t miss out on this informative opportunity.
Location Intelligence
While an address is important for postal delivery, it does not, by itself, give you the answers you need to run your business effectively especially if your business processes depend on precise location.
Our solutions combine leading–edge address cleansing technology with the most advanced geocoding and spatial analysis functionality. Using our solutions, you can pinpoint the exact latitude and longitude of an address and run spatial determinations based on your in–house guidelines. These leading-edge solutions allow you to automate business processes and make smarter business decisions in a batch environment or make determinations on a single address in real time.
In this track you will gather the intelligence you need to combine leading–edge address cleansing technology with the most advanced geocoding and spatial analysis functionality.
Customer Communication Management
Within the Customer Communication Management (CCM) track, you will learn about this powerful and flexible set of CCM software solutions that help to equip your enterprise with the tools needed to produce, personalize, and present intelligent communications across the customer enterprise. These tools enable you to enhance customer loyalty, increase ROI on customer acquisition initiatives and maximize the lifetime value of each and every customer.
Learn how your relationships with customers, prospects, suppliers and employees can become more effective, more efficient, and far more profitable by providing the ultimate customer experience. Supported by Group 1 customer presentations, this track will introduce you to the latest Pitney Bowes Group 1 offerings, from on-demand and interactive, relevant communications and e-Messaging to online account management and enterprise content management; and provide you with a vision into the future.
Data Quality/Data Integration
Complete and accurate customer data is more than an important corporate asset; it can be your competitive edge. Creating customers for life and more return on customers is what our solutions enable you to do. We’ll show you how to pinpoint opportunities at the individual, household and relationship level — and integrate cost-reduction processes into your business. Our new and improved Customer Data Quality Platform will provide you with the answers you need.
You will also find ways to transform disparate data into actionable information using our data integration solutions. See how every facet of your business can benefit from a documented, repeatable process that’s easy to define, easy to query and even easier to use.

Media Change for CODE-1 Plus, Finalist, and Address Quality Hub Mainframe Customers
Effective March 1, 2008, Group 1 Software, Inc. will provide software and databases for CODE-1 Plus, Finalist, and Address Quality Hub Mainframe customers on 3490e tapes ONLY, as well as on CDs, DVDs and via Internet download. For those customers currently receiving 3480 or 3590 tapes, in January and February we will send data on 3480/3590 and 3490e tapes, but as of March 1, we will send releases and data on 3490e tapes only. For the January and February shipments, we will send 3490e tapes first followed by 3480s or 3590s.
Group 1 has changed its media for the following reasons:
- Because 3490e tapes have greater storage capacity than 3480s. This change will allow us to send fewer tapes to customers for expedited delivery and installation.
- Although 3490e tapes have a smaller storage capacity than 3590s, many customers do not have the technology required to support 3590s. Most data will still fit on a single 3490e tape. In order to provide the majority of our customers with fewer tapes and reduce costs, 3490e tapes will be the only tapes distributed after March 1, 2008.
- Customers have a choice of the following media if they do not accept 3490e tapes: CD, DVD, Internet download, or AutoDelivery depending upon the product or database.
For further assistance, please email Product Distribution Services at PDS@g1.com
