Technical Support Spotlight

This edition of NewsCast is spotlighting Group 1 Software's Mary Burkett, a Level I Senior Technical Support Representative of the Postal Support Team. If you own a List or Postal Product, chances are you have communicated with Mary, who has been a steadfast employee of Group 1 for the past 15 years.

Mary began her career at Group 1's corporate office in Lanham, Maryland, as part of the PC Technical Support Software division. Four years later, Group 1 sold its PC products, and Mary joined the Postal Support Team where she has grown to be an expert in her position.

"She is key in the group's ability to provide high service levels," says Padraic Way, Director of Technical Support.

Mary's main priority is helping Postal and List Product customers with any problems that they are having with their products, whether it is to answer questions concerning documentation or troubleshoot software issues. Her other responsibilities include reviewing technical User's Guides and writing all of the MailStream Plus Technical Notes. The next time you read over the Technical Notes for your product's newest release, think about the months of hard work that go into writing them. And who is more qualified to answer your questions or troubleshoot your product than the person who exercises that energy?

"Not only does Mary work extremely hard to complete the best possible work," says Mary's Support Manager, Shontese Trowell. "But I also know that she will always follow up with her tasks at hand, and more importantly the customers."

As a dedicated worker, Mary is willing to step up whenever she's needed. At times she has been asked to help out with testing new releases and product updates for Quality Assurance. She also regularly attends the annual Group 1 User's Conference to assist attendees at the Help Desk.

Born in Munich, West Germany, Mary now resides with her family in Columbia, South Carolina as a Group 1 teleworker.

...Group 1 Support Site DPV™ & LACSLink™ False-Positive

Group 1 would like to announce a new feature that has recently been made available on the Support Site. A new menu item, DPV & LACSLink False-Positive, appears under the Technical Services navigation menu. This menu item is a shortcut for users to retrieve their DPV and LACSLink database restart keys, rather than going through the My Products area of the Support Site.

Once you click on the DPV & LACSLink False-Positive link, an Available Products "tree view" of your products will display on the screen. This tree view is a specifically filtered product view that displays only product purchases which contain either a DPV and/or LACSLink database. Locating the DPV and/or LACSLink database for which you need a restart key is made easy by denoting the specified databases with a key icon. Clicking on the database hyperlink will immediately direct you to the Get DPV License/Report Seed Violation dialog screen from where you can upload the seed file and retrieve the restart key.
