Improving Customer Feedback on Software Documentation

The Documentation department is fully committed to improving our customers’ experience with Group 1 Software. Technical writers rely on customer feedback to identify errors and improve documentation. We are pleased to introduce two new ways for customers to provide such feedback: a feedback button embedded in our PDF documents and a comment form available on the Group 1 Software Web site.

Feedback Button

The feedback button will be displayed on every page of our PDF documents. This allows the customer the opportunity to offer comments on specific pages of our guides. Comments may include factual errors, confusing writing, missing information, or anything that gets in the way of understanding the topic. The button is located in the upper right hand corner of every page, as shown below.

Clicking the button produces a comment form that you can use to enter your comments. The form automatically includes the document title, the software version, the page you are commenting on, and your comments. Your comments are sent directly to the Documentation department so that the technical writer can update the document.

The PDF feedback button is a new feature so it is not yet available for all of our documents.

Documentation Comment Form

For documents that are not equipped with the feedback button, you can fill out the Documentation Comment Form, on the Technical Services area of our Web site. Clicking the “Documentation Comment Form” link produces a multi-page comment form.

You must enter the correct information about the software product, version, and platform, as well as the title of the document. When all the fields are complete, the form is sent to the Documentation department so that the writer assigned to the project can update the document.

Group 1 University: Develop Print Streams Using Visual Engineer!

StreamWeaver Development Using Visual Engineer Workshop
March 14 - 17, 2006

StreamWeaver Development Using Visual Engineer Workshop will enable you to use Visual Engineer to engineer your print streams, allowing you to:

  • Make use of a range of new and existing insertion equipment
  • Split output to facilitate delivery across multiple delivery channels
  • Reduce costs by commingling and/or consolidating mail pieces and by automating manual mail handling operations

To achieve these goals, you will learn to prepare StreamWeaver runs that will create multiple document output files, consolidate documents, insert pages into a document, reorder pages within documents, create extract files, and add, delete, and modify barcodes for insertion equipment.
