The Group 1 Web site has been redesigned and is ready for visitors - http://www.g1.com. This new design makes it easier for customers to navigate the site and find the information they need. G1.com uses the newest web technologies to make the site faster, more accessible, easier to navigate and easier to read. Visit http://www.g1.com/Help/About.asp for further details. Some of the most significant changes implemented in this new Web site are:

  • Improved navigation,
  • A "liquid layout" that lets you determine page layout,
  • A site search box on the top of each page (Note: this does not search secured Support-related pages), and
  • Access keys for jumping to specific areas of the site quickly, such as Alt-6 + Enter using Internet Explorer which takes you directly to Customer Services.

The customer support areas still have all the same functionality you've come to expect, along with some improvements in readability and navigation.

  • The menu on the left offers quick navigation throughout the Support site.
  • Column sortations are instantaneous on the software, updates, documentation, database and license file pages.
  • The Support Site Help page offers answers to your technical concerns.
  • The Supported Platforms page has been enhanced to include detailed information on which products are supported on each platform.
  • The Customer Login link in the upper-right corner of each page gets you to Technical Support right away!

These are just a few of the enhancements made. Our international Web sites have not been changed. Be sure to visit the Support site today at www.g1.com/support and see what the fuss is all about! We hope that you enjoy and benefit from this redesign. We also welcome any comments or suggestions that you may have. Please visit the Online Discussion Forums at http://www.g1.com/Support/Forums/forum.asp?forum_id=45.

Call today about discounts on Group 1's CODE-1 Plus and MailStream Plus classes being offered in Irvine, California; Downers Grove, IL; Addison, TX; and Lanham, MD.

We also offer onsite classes. Some companies find onsite classes given at their location a better investment. These courses are convenient, customized using your in-house data, and can be more economical than the public seminars depending on the size of your group. Onsite classes are $2000/day plus expenses. Mention you read about onsite classes in Newscast when you register and Group 1 will pay the instructor's expenses! eLearning classes are offered by Group 1 University as an additional method of training - so you don't have to leave your office.

Don't forget that Pre-Conference Intensives are offered every year at the Users' Conference. This year, the classes will be held July 19-20, in Atlanta, Georgia. The offerings are CODE-1 Plus, MailStream Plus and Merge/Purge Plus.

Through education you can:

  • Improve the software system performance by learning the most optimal ways to set up your jobs.
  • Learn how to apply the features/functions of your software to improve your own internal business functions.

Effective April 1, 2004, the Postal Service revised Domestic Mail Manual (DMM) section A020 to standardize when alternative addressing formats may be used and to clarify the differences between the various formats. In addition, postage payment options for use on mailpieces with simplified addresses were specified, prohibiting the use of uncanceled stamps to enable efficient handling and processing of this mail. Corresponding sections of DMM E050 and F010 were also revised. The entire rule revisions and clarifications can be viewed in the March 11, 2004 Federal Register.

These changes have already been incorporated into the current DMM, which is available on-line at http://pe.usps.gov
