Wolverine Licenses Group 1's Residential Delivery Indicator
(RDI) and Delivery Point Validation (DPV) Technologies
Group 1 recently announced that footwear provider Wolverine World
Wide, Inc. has licensed its CODE-1 Plus address validation software
solution. Wolverine World Wide has also licensed two additional
CODE-1 Plus modules - Residential Delivery Indicator (RDI)
and Delivery Point Validation (DPV). These software systems
will help Wolverine limit parcel surcharges and utilize the most
accurate address information to ensure the speediest and most
economical delivery.
CODE-1 Plus validates, corrects, and standardizes customer address
data. Utilized in conjunction with CODE-1 Plus, the RDI file,
administered by the United States Postal Service® (USPS®),
enables parcel shippers to determine whether an address is a residence
or a business. Identifying an address as a business or residence
enables parcel shippers to determine the best cost for shipping
packages, as some delivery services charge a higher price for
delivery to a residential address than to a business address.
DPV, another CODE-1 Plus add-on, enables users to verify that
an actual address exists, down to the apartment or suite level,
thereby reducing undeliverable-as-addressed mail resulting from
inaccurate addresses.
Utilizing Group 1's direct marketing software enables us
to maximize our cost savings on parcel shipments while ensuring
that we are mailing our products to confirmed delivery points,
said Kevin Bullen, business systems analyst at Wolverine World
Wide. Whether we ship one pair of shoes directly to a consumer
or 600 cartons to a retailer, Group 1's technology meets our wide-ranging
business needs. Additionally, with its support for the iSeries
(AS/400), Group 1 was able to interface seamlessly with our back-end
fulfillment and operational systems.
Wolverine joins a growing roster of leading global businesses
that look to Group 1 Software for innovative direct marketing and
shipping-oriented software solutions, said Bob Bowen, CEO of
Group 1 Software. We look forward to working with end-users
such as Wolverine as well as third-party channel partners to expand
the use of innovative technologies such as RDI and DPV.
Call today about discounts on Group 1's CODE-1 Plus and MailStream
Plus iSeries/AS400 classes being offered in Chicago, Illinois
April 6-9, 2004. In addition to those classes being offered in
Chicago, Group 1 University is also offering public seminars at
three locations: Irvine, CA; Dallas, TX ; and Lanham, MD.
We also offer onsite classes. Some companies find onsite classes
given at their location a better investment. Onsite classes are
$2000/day plus travel expenses. These courses are convenient,
customized using your in-house data, and can be more economical
than the public seminars depending on the size of your group.
eLearning classes are offered by Group 1 University as an additional
method of training - so you don't have to leave your office.
Don't forget that Pre-Conference
Intensives are offered every year at the Users' Conference.
This year, the classes will be held July 19-20, in Atlanta, Georgia.
The offerings are CODE-1 Plus, MailStream Plus and Merge/Purge
Plus.
