Delivery Point Validation, or DPV, has been released and sold to several Group 1 accounts with success and satisfaction. Over 100 existing Group 1 accounts have the system installed and are finding the validation of the files to be quite an eye-opener. Marketers are uncovering addressing issues with trusted files that have been used for years. Non-deliverable records averaging from 2.5% to nearly 15% have been reported. One marketer found that with nearly 2% of the invoices undeliverable, their company was losing on expedited cash flow due to delayed receipt of the bills. Another vendor studied their non-deliverables and found that DPV is very cost-effective when they took into account the cost of misdirected, or wasted, mail pieces sent by Standard Mail. The mail pieces that were thought to have been delivered, never made it to the delivery point.

Other businesses, such as mortgage and insurance companies are reviewing DPV's value. We expect some of the modeling and automated credit routines to be updated and linked into DPV's technology. Early real-time DPV testing continues to show promising results. For more information on DPV, contact your local sales representative or visit http://www.g1.com/solutions/ds.asp?DS_ID=124&Category_ID=4.

*Group 1 is a non-exclusive Licensee of the United States Postal Service. The price at which Group 1 is offering DPV is not established, controlled, or approved by the USPS or the United States government.

The Canada Post Corporation (CPC) Software Evaluation Recognition Program (SERP) has been designed in consultation with software developers and the mailing industry to evaluate Letter Carrier Presortation (LCP) and Address Accuracy software. The recognition process determines the software's accuracy in sorting address file(s) according to the Presortation Technical Specifications. SERP is open to in-house or commercial software developers who want their software programs recognized by CPC. Mailers with recognized software may take advantage of presort incentive rates. This program evaluates and recognizes presortation software products manufactured by developers and mailers; however, this program does not guarantee the presortation software product's performance.

Letter Carrier Presortation is a batch process that assigns the correct delivery mode details to each address and, in turn, sequences, groups, provides label information for groupings, sequences the groupings within containers, and provides label information for containers.

SortStream Canada is recognized in all CPC SERP Recognition Categories: Incentive Lettermail, Addressed Admail, Dimensional Addressed Admail, Publications Mail, Monotainer/Pallet Make-up, Brick-piling, and FSA Restructure Processing. This product also provides all of the required, as well as optional, features in the SERP recognition program. It produces the Mailing Summary, labels/ facing slips, Support Brick-piling, Monotainer/Pallet Make-up, and FSA Restructuring. This product is made available on multiple platforms and supports nearly every computing environment.

Group 1's SortStream Canada is one of the three products recognized in all categories. The other vendors only support PC-based architecture. Group 1 clients on maintenance for SortStream Canada will automatically get this approved software, due to ship in the mid-to-late September time frame. To obtain more information, please contact your local sales representative or email info@g1.com.
