Starting Friday, August 16, Group 1 customers will now have a new
and improved method for obtaining their Product Updates from our
Support Web site. The process is even simpler than before. You will
continue to receive a letter notifying you that a Product Update
is available and what it pertains to. Then, you'll simply login
to the Support area of our Web site, select Product
Updates from the menu, and receive a customized list of all
available Updates for the products and platforms your company currently
has under maintenance. Each available update will have a description
of what it pertains to, along with links to relevant announcements
and documentation.
The installation instructions are now a built-in part of the download
process. You will receive pop-ups instructing you in the basics
of getting the file(s) onto your PC, along with links to the relevant
platform installation instructions for loading the Update onto your
platform. The interface for this is similar to what is used in the
Product and Database Downloads area.
In addition, enhancements were made to the Product Downloads and
Database Downloads areas that provide a consistent look and feel
and more descriptive data on what is presented to you.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Please be advised that all Product Updates
processed prior to August 16, 2002 can continue to be accessed
via the Special Request Downloads (SRD) area according to the
communications provided for that Update.
We encourage you to sign into the Support Web site periodically
(select Product Updates from the menu) to see what Updates are available
for the products and platforms that you currently have under maintenance.
The direct link is www.g1.com/support/dspavlupd.asp. If you do not know
your User ID and password, simply request that it be e-mailed to you
via the instructions provided on the login page. If you have any problems
or issues, please contact Technical Support at www.g1.com/support/requestsupport.asp
or support@g1.com.
