Group 1 is pleased to announce that you can now request your existing
User ID and password be automatically e-mailed to you, without the
need to contact Technical Support. The link to this new service
can be found on the login
page for support. This functionality was introduced in anticipation
of License Management, where customers will be required to log into
the Web site to obtain their license keys.
In case you were wondering about the security of this new functionality
. . .in order for you to receive a reply, your e-mail address MUST
be in our Siebel customer database as part of your Contact record.
There must be an exact match; however, the data is not case sensitive.
Contact records, as well as Account records, must also be active.
As an added benefit, if you are listed as a Contact under multiple
Account records, all of your IDs and passwords will be mailed to
you in a single message. Further, the e-mail message is only sent
to the address that is entered; so someone would need to have access
to your e-mail account in order to obtain your login information.
. . . Group 1 is very proud to announce that we are still the only
software vendor on the list of PAVE-Certified* companies for Cycle
F, a.k.a "The Rate Case." This certainly underscores our commitment
to providing you, our customers, with the best software we can in
an expeditious manner.
* Click here to view a complete list of presort categories for which we have received certification.
. . . All Canadian CODE-1 Plus customers must be running on a
3.0.x version of the software. If you are currently running a version
of the software that is less than 3.0.x, you must immediately implement
the 3.0.x software in order to comply with Canada Post Corporation
(CPC) SERP address validation software regulations. Statement of
Accuracy (SOA)'s presented to CPC without a software version of
3.0.x could pose potential postal penalties by CPC. Users of EZ-6/CUE
for SERP SOA's must present SOA to CPC with execution run dates
and databases before June 1, 2002 in order to be valid. Any SOA's
after June 1 must use Canadian CODE-1 Plus Version 3.0.X.

Group 1 uses License Management to help administer its agreements
with our customers, as well as with the USPS. Group 1 has implemented
the license management system to monitor transaction counts or volume,
and regulatory compliance. Failure to adhere to license restrictions
WILL result in the disabling of the software product until compliance
is achieved. CODE-1 Plus now requires you to install some files
with read/write access and execute software on your host system.
Group 1 has the right to request system audits and reports to provide
you with updated license keys. In order to prevent any interruptions
in your business operations, we have made it easy for you to obtain
any license upgrade that may be necessary. Please contact your Sales
Executive so that your software license may be appropriately modified
without interruption of service.
Group 1 typically provides you with a temporary license key at initial installation, which allows you
to install the Group 1 product and to prepare your production environment before you obtain a permanent
license key. Refer to your "What's New in CODE-1 Plus 2.5" guide for instructions on loading the temporary
key and obtaining a permanent key. You may also visit our Support website for a list of
Frequently Asked Questions pertaining to License Management.
Please note that Group 1 currently offers unlimited license agreements for most of our core products,
including CODE-1 Plus, which eliminates any license restrictions.
The U. S. Postal Service on May 31 published in the Federal Register
an advance notice of proposed rulemaking and request for comment
on several proposals to reduce the volume of undeliverable-as-addressed
(UAA) mail. The USPS intends to extend the Move Update requirement
for presorted rate mailings beyond First-Class Mail to also include
Periodicals, Standard Mail and Package Services; to reduce from
180 days to 90 days the window a mailer has to process addresses
through a USPS-approved Move Update process prior to the mailing
date; and to remove manual notifications from ancillary service
endorsements as a stand-alone option to satisfy the Move Update
requirement. Also being considered is a requirement for more frequent
use of address matching software and a requirement for that software
to utilize more current address matching directories. The Postal
Service plans to give due notice of these changes with an intended
implementation date of no sooner than 18 months from now, and is
seeing comments from mailers on the proposed changes.
Comments to the Postal Service's proposed changes are due no later
than August 29 and should be delivered to the Office of Product
Management - Addressing, National Customer Support Center, USPS,
6060 Primacy Pkwy., Ste 201, Memphis, TN 38188-0001. The USPS also
will accept comments via fax at 901-821-6206 or via e-mail to chunt1@email.usps.gov.
In particular, the Postal Service seeks comments on the intended
implementation time of not less than 18 months; the extension of
the Move Update requirement for presorted rate mailings to Periodicals,
Standard Mail and Package Services mailers; the impact to mailers
who currently use manual ancillary service endorsements as an option
to satisfy the Move Update requirement; and the impact of more frequent
use of Move Update and address matching software. Contact PostCom
at 703-524-0096 to obtain a copy of the USPS' proposed changes or
for additional information. Questions should be directed to Wayne
Orbke, USPS, at 901-681-4658 or Charles Hunt, USPS, at 901-681-4651.
