Group 1 has added Access Keys to our license managed products.
An Access Key is an encrypted 16 to 21-byte key used during software
installation. The effect of this key is isolated to new customers,
existing customers buying a product for the first time, and customers
trialing a license managed product. The access key (for example,
09-1599895369-CP), when requested during the installation process,
can be found in two places. It is displayed on your packing list
for the product shipment appended to the licensed managed product's
description. It is also found in the emailed shipping notification
in conjunction with the shipment of your product. In the event that
you purchase/trial multiple license-managed products, you will receive
a unique Access Key for each of the products.
If you cannot locate the Access Key when required, please contact
Group 1 Technical Support by email at support@g1.com
or by phone at 1-800-367-6950.
Take a look at some of the recent updates and additions that have
been made to this valuable section of our Web site. The FAQs (Frequently
Asked Questions) are listed by product so you can easily find the
questions that apply to your specific products. There is also a
link to the FAQ
Submission Form if you have a question/answer you would like
to have considered. Below are a few of the most recent additions
to this area.

Calling G1CP under release 2.5 is causing a File Status 35 Error
on ZIPIDX. How can I resolve this?

The Group 1 Software HotData Team is pleased to announce the general availability of Group 1 Phone
Services. Follow this link to www.g1.com/demos/interactive to see our interactive demo that shows these
new offerings along with some of our core products.
Group 1’s phone services can help business-to-business and business-to-consumer companies tackle complex
data quality problems throughout the enterprise. Two phone services are available:
- Telephone number append accepts a name (consumer or business) and partial address information and
returns a full name, complete address, telephone number, and a confidence score. If the match is
ambiguous, we can return up to five candidate matches ranked by confidence score.
- Reverse telephone number append accepts a telephone number and returns the corresponding name and
address.
Optimized for data quality tasks, where the clean information re-enters
the original application, we return mixed case addresses that conform
to United States Postal Service (USPS) guidelines. These services
are available both in real-time and batch mode via HotData, Group
1’s hosted services infrastructure, a one-stop shop for all your
data quality and augmentation needs.
For additional information, please contact your Group 1 Account Executive.
With the recent release of CODE-1 Plus version 2.5.1, a newly created
option has been made available for major mailers, marketers, and
customers with large databases using the Delivery Point Validation
(DPV) to increase the speed and processing for files of any considerable
size. This option was created with the larger user in mind. The
system loads DPV tables into memory and processes records considerably
faster than in the earlier releases. Our major mailers on mainframe
systems needed to have DPV running millions of records per hour
and this option was designed with that goal in mind. Actual performance
and speed depends greatly on the input data ZIP density, numbers
of records in the file, and system availability; so results can
vary. The DPV system allows mailers to determine whether an address
is truly a delivery point serviced by the USPS. This option is available
to all clients currently on maintenance.
. . . Beginning in November, the USPS may begin to charge penalties
for all First Class mail that does not comply with the "Move Update"
rules. This decision has been made because tests performed in the
Southeastern region showed that some mailers are not using the United
States Postal Service's "Move Update" procedures.
. . . On January 13, 2003, the Canada Post Corporation will implement
price changes to Incentive Lettermail, Addressed Admail, and Publications
mail. Please note that there will be no price changes for Dimensional
Addressed Admail. The changes can be found on Canada Post's Web
site (www.canadapost.ca)
at the following locations:
