Group 1 Software recently announced that consulting firm ANALYTICi is utilizing Group 1's customer data quality solutions in
ANALYTICi's client engagements. Headquartered in New York, ANALYTICi is a leading consulting organization providing
end-to-end CRM application strategy, hosted database-marketing solutions, and customized multi-channel tracking
systems in an effort to ensure ROI maximization.
ANALYTICi is a division of the FCB Group and part of The Interpublic Group of Companies, Inc., the largest
organization of advertising agencies and marketing services companies in the world. The company combines a full range
of marketing, technical and analytical disciplines to design, implement and evaluate data-intensive marketing programs.
ANALYTICi's services create a single view of the customer and guide clients toward optimized corporate profitability.
The company manages and measures the effectiveness of all customer interactions — whether via the web, call center or
traditional direct mail — enabling its clients to manage customer relationships more effectively.
ANALYTICi is utilizing Group 1's CODE-1 Plus to provide address data quality by cleansing, validating and standardizing
every element of an address. Group 1's customer data consolidation solutions, List Conversion Plus, Business
Merge/Purge Plus, and Consumer Merge/Purge Plus, identify and eliminate duplicate records using a sophisticated
algorithm tailored to name and address processing. With accurate, non-redundant customer information, ANALYTICi's
clients can develop highly effective marketing campaigns that reach the most likely prospects, maximizing return on
marketing investments.
"We selected Group 1's enterprise-wide data management tools since they are easy to implement, manage
and maintain," said Stephen C. Horne, ANALYTICi president. "These solutions have simplified the design,
implementation and management of our customer data-warehousing solutions."
Group 1's data quality solutions are the cornerstone of successful CRM initiatives. These applications
enable businesses to validate the integrity of customer and prospect data and enhance that information with
valuable geographic and demographic intelligence.
Effective March 31, 2002, the USPS will implement a new addition to the DMM, Section M950, that will allow mailers
to place automation-rate and Presorted-rate pieces in the same package. This new sortation, known as co-packaging, will be
available for First Class, Standard, and Periodical mailings. Only one physical package per logical destination may be
prepared under Section M950. A logical destination is all the pieces that qualify for a specific presort level based on the sortation
rules. These pieces do not necessarily have to fit into one physical container.
The current minimum mailing requirements for each class and presort level of mail, i.e. 500 automation and 500 Presorted
pieces for First Class mail, continue to apply to the entire mailing; however, automation and Presorted pieces may be jointly
considered when attempting to meet the minimum requirements for a package or container. Under this new presort, the automation
pieces must continue to bear a barcode at the ZIP+4 or delivery point level; however, the new regulations state that the Presorted pieces must now bear a
5-digit barcode.
For Periodical mailings containing firm packages, the firm packages
will continue to count as one piece, regardless of the number
of copies contained in the firm package. The firm packages must
be accompanied by, though physically separate from, enough automation
and/or Presorted pieces to satisfy the minimum package requirements.
The rate assignment for pieces in a co-package mailing will continue
to be based on the automation or Presorted designations, as appropriate.
The documentation for the mailing must indicate the number of
automation rate and the number of Presort rate pieces in each
package.
This new addition will be available with the release of MailStream
Plus 6.3.3. The complete DMM text was published in Postal Bulletin
22064 (11/29/2001).
