Postal and Technology Briefs: USPS® Briefs Industry on New CASS™ Cycle M Requirements
The U.S. Postal Service® (USPS) recently briefed the mailing industry about the new CASS Cycle M rules that are scheduled to go into effect August 1, 2008.
The meeting, hosted by the National Customer Support Center (NCSC) in Memphis, TN, provided the rule adjustments, giving mailers an opportunity to review the impact well in advance of the scheduled implementation date.
CASS Cycle M Tests
Under the new requirements, mailers will be expected to perform new Cycle tests, including:
- Validating a secondary of # 0, by matching a high-rise exact record
- Implementing required software to return the Preferred Alias as standard output
- Installing SuiteLink™ (required for Cycle M for CASS and MASS™)
