The Challenge
The Empowerment Zone tax incentives are worth approximately $5.3 billion to small and large businesses in the specified zones. These incentives encourage entrepreneurs to invest in renewal communities, open new businesses and expand existing ones, and hire tens of thousands of local residents. The challenge was to provide a web site that potential investors could visit to determine if a business or residence was located within a renewal community, empowerment zone, or enterprise community.
The Story
