Data Flow™ Architecture

Data Flow ArchitectureThe Data Flow™ Server is the core component of our data integration offering. It is a massively parallel, multi-threaded server that applies analytics and data transforms across disparate data sources. This diagram depicts the relationship of the Data Flow™ Server to the rest of the information infrastructure and also illustrates the complementary products that we offer.

Data Load Server

Data Load Server is a Data Flow™ Server containing the transformation capabilities of the “Data Movement & Loading” module. It is used to extract data from multiple operational systems, integrate the data, and load it into a database or flat file. The core competency is in the wealth of transformations and the efficiency with which the Data Load Server performs them.

Data Access Server

Data Access Server is a Data Flow™ Server containing the transformation capabilities of the “Data Visualization & Distribution” module. It is used to combine heterogeneous data sources, perform sophisticated analytics on the data, and deliver the data sets to many users simultaneously in the form of reports, charts, and cross tabs or flat files or the display functionality of third party tools such as Microsoft Excel or Crystal Reports. The core competency is in the ability to prepare exactly the data set the analyst needs and do it in a documented and repeatable way.

WebLink is our web based front end for the Data Access server. It delivers key business analytics to end users in a timely and customized way via their web browser.

Automation

Automation is a dependency scheduler to manage a “lights out” production environment. It provides a comprehensive workflow control of your data integration routines including Data Flow™ as well as third-party or owned applications. It is a graphical environment that allows developers to automate routine and complex business processes.

An easily integrated interface based on ODBC that can bring the power of the Data Access Server to any ODBC compliant front end application, including MS Excel, MS Access, Crystal Reports, and Business Objects.

Design Studio

The primary design and development tool for our Data Flow™ environment. This client application uses a graphical “Data Flow” methodology to help EII and ETL application developers to quickly and easily design complex processes. The graphical nature facilitates collaboration between business users and IT.

Information Studio

The client/server front end application for Data Flow™ server.

Administration

A unified administration tool for managing the users and tuning of the Data Flow™ environment.

Reports

The reporting tool of the Data Flow™ environment that enables users to create custom and standard reports for browser viewing.

Analysis

The business analysis tool of the Data Flow™ environment lets you analyze your data in cross tabs and charts over the web.

Connectors for a variety of ERP, mainframe and other legacy data sources. These connectors plug directly into the Data Flow™ design environment. It includes SAP, PeopleSoft, and Siebel as well as many others.
