CDQ Platform Product Architecture

CDQ Platform Archtecture Thumbnail

The CDQ Platform uses a service-oriented modular architecture that supports multi-processor and distributed component installations, supporting enterprise-class data processing demands.

The CDQ Platform provides flexible options for integration with your own and third party applications, whether batch or real-time.

The CDQ Platform provides a Windows GUI tool for product configuration and management, a server that runs on Windows, UNIX and iSeries, and programming interfaces for real-time implementation.

The CDQ Platform Client

The CDQ Platform client populates the metadata repository and creates data quality workflow processes.

Workflow Management Console

A powerful, flexible and visually oriented console serves both business analysts and data technicians equally well. The clean, intuitive console allows non-technical users to create workflow processes quickly and efficiently. Experienced technicians will find the familiar CDQ Platform parsing, matching and record consolidation functions that have established the highest production standards in enterprise data cleansing for twenty-five years.

Metadata Definition

The Platform intuitively defines metadata information for any data source and file-type. The application’s built-in support for JDBC automatically detects metadata information for any relational data source.

Job Execution

Enterprise integration, flexibility and precision job handling define the CDQ Platform as the reliable data quality engine for mission critical application support. Complex, independent job workflows can be defined and executed either on demand or by any in-house scheduling system.

Rules-Driven Data Transformation

With the CDQ Platform, users have the flexibility to customize rules to meet their specific requirements using simple language commands. Once defined, any custom command in rules repository is available for re-use in creating new workflows.

Monitoring and Management

Step-specific process monitoring is an essential part of workflow management and is vital to ensure high-quality, reliable results.

  • Pre-flight verification tool identifies errors in data-mapping and business rules prior to job execution
  • Monitor run-time progress of data flows
  • Provide data flow performance statistics

CDQ Platform Server

Data processing occurs at the server side, facilitating industry-leading processing performance. A powerful engine synchronizes repository data and manages communication between the client and the transformation modules via TCP/IP.

Transformation Modules

The CDQ Platform offers flexibility and economy through its modular design. This architecture allows users to add and remove components based on current needs and future requirements. The solution includes functional components to standardize, validate, parse, and consolidate records. Add additional modules to append Latitude/Longitude coordinates and telephone numbers. What’s more, the CDQ Platform architecture allows for distributed processing, a significant factor in achieving high performance, both in batch and real-time complex processes.

The currently available transformation modules consist of:

  • Universal Name Module — breaking down strings of data into multiple fields, thereby standardizing data elements with greater accuracy.
  • Universal Addressing and Address Now Modules — offering address standardization and validation tools to improve data accuracy, enabling greater postal discounts while ensuring timely mail delivery.
  • Data Normalization Module — ensuring consistent terms are employed across a given domain by identifying, extracting, and standardizing any data element.
  • Advanced Matching Module — matching records between and within input files, providing a powerful rules-based engine to identify unique products, locations, and customers.

Platform Support

  • Windows NT/2000/XP
  • UNIX (Sun Solaris, HPUX, IBM AIX, Linux and more)
