Acronyms & Abbreviations

This can be quite helpful, as the many industries we serve are heavy in this department. To expand the full term, just hover your mouse over the abbreviation or acronym. Example: USPS
Navigation
To ease navigation, we offer a few different ways to find the content you are looking for.
- Top Navigation
- The top navigation tabs shows what primary section of the site you are currently visiting by changing the background of the tab to aqua blue. You may also click the Pitney Bowes Group 1 Software logo to return directly to the home page.
- Breadcrumbs
- At the top of the content area of every page there is a breadcrumb trail to help you find your way back the way you came. Each section represents another step backward towards the home page. You can click a page name to jump directly to that page.
- Left Navigation
- The left side of every page shows what primary section of the site you are on, and, if available, any sub-pages for the section. Simply click the page name to view that page. As you navigate through the pages, the aqua blue text indicates your current location. You can use either the left side navigation, the breadcrumb trail, the main navigation or your browser's "Back" button to return to previous pages.
- Search
- The search box is at the top right of every page. You may also use Access key s from any page to get to the search page.
- 404 Error Page — Not Found
- An error page is shown in case of a URL that does not exist, has been misspelled or has been modified to help users find the content they are looking for. Depending on the URL, the page will try to determine which page you intended to visit and will provide suggestions.
Form Labels
All forms on G1.com use text labels for input fields. By labeling these form elements, screen reading sofware will read the label and intelligently announce what a particular input element is. Also, users can click on these text labels to activate the associated form element. This gives users with limited vision a much wider margin of error.
Images & Links
The images on this site have alt attributes, which describe the graphic in greater detail. Also, where relevant, links have title attributes, providing additional information about the link. These attributes help explain the significance of images and links to non-visual readers and people who use text-based browsers, as well as provide additional information to all users.
Some link on this site also feature a visual icon to provide the user additional infomration about the type of link. The below key provides details about the icons associated with these special links.
- Off site link: Re-directs user off g1.com; opens link in new window.
- New window link: User remains on g1.com; opens pop-up window.
- PDF link: Link opens a PDF file; depending on your browser settings, this may launch in a new window.
Typography
The fonts used on this site should be available in almost all computers. If the requested font is not available, the appropriate default fonts will be used. This site is designed to let you choose the font size you want to use. Since every effort was made to use relative measurements when building this site, the site will conform to whatever font size you choose in your browser. In most browsers, you can adjust the font size by choosing "Text Size" from the "View" menu.
Printing
The site uses a printer style sheet which will only print the important content on each page, without navigation and other features that don't apply to a printed page. In addition, contact information is automatically added to all printed copies of product information, making it easier to follow up without using your computer.
Unobtrusive Behavior
Several features available on g1.com utlize javascript to enable unique behaviors, such as the expanding text on our home page. To take full advantage of these features, javascript must enabled on your browser. However, if you do not have javascript enabled, these behaviors will gracefully degrade, allowing you full access to the information you need.
Web Site Technology
G1.com uses the newest web technologies to make the site faster, more accessible, easier to navigate and easier to read. We are using XHTML 1.0 Transitional markup and CSS for presentation.
Most modern browsers support these standards, but if your browser is having trouble displaying the content properly, you may want to visit the Web Standards Project to make sure you are using a standards compliant browser.
