Convergys Selects DOC1 in Multimillion Dollar Agreement
Lanham, MD — Group 1 Software (Nasdaq: GSOF) announced today that Convergys Corporation has selected DOC1 as its bill composition system. Convergys is the global leader in integrated billing and customer care services for a broad range of telecommunication carriers. Convergys' software produces over a million bills each day.
After a comprehensive technical evaluation of several document composition systems, Convergys selected DOC1 as the fastest way to produce dynamic, easy-to-read, personalized business documents for print and on-line delivery. DOC1's easy-to-use Graphical User Interface (GUI) and performance across multiple platforms were particularly appealing to Convergys. DOC1 will be accepting data from AtlysSM, Convergys' UNIX-based integrated billing and customer care system for wireless carriers.
"We needed a system that could extend our bill formatting functionality and still handle the massive scalability required to meet the needs of our clients," said Randy Mysliviec, senior vice president of marketing at Convergys. "We looked at a variety of products, and found that DOC1 best met our needs."

Convergys will use DOC1 to produce highly customized bills, letters and notices for customers. Telesp Celular, S.A., the largest cellular operator in Brazil, recently selected Convergys to provide a unique and comprehensive billing and customer care solution. Telesp Celular purchased DOC1 in January, 2000, and will be the first to implement the joint Atlys/DOC1 solution.
The DOC1 system allows dynamic document applications to be developed in a WYSIWYG environment on a Windows NT workstation. The DOC1 production engine can run under MVS, Windows NT, UNIX (Sun Solaris, HP/UX and AIX, DEC UNIX), Open VMS, OS/400 or PC DOS. DOC1 is completely printer independent and produces AFP, HP/PCL, PostScript, PDF and line data output.
