Group 1 Software Introduces Advanced Data Quality Technology For Its Data Flow Solution

New Advanced Matcher Transform Provides Innovative Matching and Consolidation Functionality To Users Of Group 1's Data Integration Technology

San Diego, CA — Group 1 Software, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Pitney Bowes Inc. (NYSE: PBI), today announced the general availability of its Advanced Matcher Transform. The new solution provides user-defined matching and consolidation functionality as a module of Data Flow, Group 1's advanced data integration and analysis technology. Data Flow's unique architecture allows it to accommodate high volume data transfer, rapid query-based extracts, analysis, and reporting. The announcement was made at The Data Warehouse Institute's (TDWI) World Conference, which is taking place August 8-13 at San Diego's Manchester Grand Hyatt.

The Advanced Matcher Transform features flexible business rules that define matches utilizing a variety of selectable algorithms. The solution lets users match on any field, including common variables such as part numbers, phone numbers, email addresses, names or postal addresses. Leveraging Data Flow's advanced architecture, the Advanced Matcher Transform is able to compare records simultaneously across multiple heterogeneous data sources. The Advanced Matcher Transform's ability to determine relationships among records, plus Data Flow's ability to assign and manage persistent identifiers, permits Data Flow users to develop a single, accurate customer view.

The Advanced Matcher Transform's design makes it language-independent, enabling users to identify accurate matches for global data. The product comes pre-packaged with matching templates, offering the optimal balance between best practices and user flexibility. “Organizations must consider data quality as a critical measure of success when delivering data integration," said Mark Beyer, senior program director at META Group, a leading provider of IT research, advisory services and strategic consulting. "The effectiveness of customer-facing systems depends on high-quality, well-integrated customer information. Organizations that are proactive in addressing data-related issues will have a competitive advantage when it comes to maximizing the value of one of their most important strategic corporate asset - customer information.”

“The introduction of the Advanced Matcher Transform underscores the growing convergence of data integration and data quality software,” said Bob Bowen, president of Group 1 Software. “We view this new technology as an important step in our efforts to connect seamlessly our core data quality and data integration solutions.”
