NetFlix Selects Group 1's DataVerse for Real-time Address Verification
Lanham, MD and Los Gatos, CA — Group 1 Software (Nasdaq: GSOF) today announced that NetFlix has selected Group 1's industry-leading DataVerse US address matching product for real-time verification of customer data. NetFlix is a pioneer in online movie rental, providing movie fans convenience, selection and service through home delivery and access to the world's largest DVD library for a flat monthly fee.
By ensuring address data quality, DataVerse US improves deliverability of goods, thereby reducing the costs of undeliverable shipments and increasing customer satisfaction. The highly scalable, easy-to-integrate DataVerse offerings can handle transactional volumes typical of today's leading e-businesses. DataVerse supports both Java and COM (ActiveX) interfaces.
"Our customers rely upon us to deliver the DVDs they rent from us in a timely, cost-effective manner," said Neil Hunt, vice president of Internet engineering at NetFlix. "Using Group 1's DataVerse, we can ensure the highest degree of accurate address entry while our customers are on our Web site. By adding barcodes to the address labels, our DVDs are delivered quickly, oftentimes a few days faster than non-cleansed addresses, while minimizing lost and undeliverable goods. Rapid turnaround time on DVD rentals enables our customers to view more movies while minimizing our mailing and customer retention costs." "We're very pleased that NetFlix has chosen DataVerse US for this important application," said Bob Bowen, CEO of Group 1. "This utilization of DataVerse underscores the tremendous value of our innovative real-time data quality solutions when integrated in a company's Web environment."
