Group 1 Software Partners with eScholar, Leading Educational Data Warehouse Provider

Alliance Targeting The State Education Market Created By the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act of 2001

Lanham, MD and White Plains, NY — Group 1 Software (Nasdaq: GSOF) and eScholar LLC today announced an OEM relationship under which eScholar will integrate into its product offerings and resell Group 1's data integration, data quality and business geographics technologies. The two organizations have worked together for nearly five years, with eScholar having implemented Group 1's data integration technology numerous times in school districts nationwide. eScholar markets the leading data warehouse, decision support, analysis and reporting solution for K-12 education, which is licensed by state education agencies and school districts nationwide.

eScholar's flagship Complete Data Warehouse solution incorporates Group 1's Data Flow technology for data integration, cleansing and Web-based analytics. With today's announcement, eScholar is now integrating a broader array of Group 1's solutions to strengthen the Complete Data Warehouse. eScholar is utilizing Group 1's data quality technology to ensure correct addresses, a critical first step in assigning accurate latitude/longitude to address records. Group 1's business geographics technology enables school systems to analyze school districts and specific education programs by geography to enhance district effectiveness.

Using technology from eScholar and Group 1, state education agencies can implement statewide accountability systems as stipulated by the federal governments' No Child Left Behind Act of 2001. Together, the companies deliver the tools and processes necessary to integrate, cleanse and standardize data within a powerful, flexible data warehouse. State education administrators have the ability to monitor over 30 categories of data and can track attendance, standardized test results, assessment scores, course grades and other educational performance measures on a per-student basis. State education agencies can also track the performance of districts and schools utilizing a wide variety of metrics.

“Integrating Group 1's Data Flow has provided us a comprehensive array of data transformation capabilities, a rapid and efficient deployment and a high performance solution that can be easily upgraded,” said Shawn Bay, CEO and Founder of eScholar. “We are very excited to integrate Group 1's data quality and business geographics software solutions into our Complete Data Warehouse for utilization by our current and prospective customers.”

“We are pleased to expand our longstanding relationship with eScholar, with whom we have worked successfully on a number of engagements,” said Bob Bowen, CEO of Group 1 Software. “We look forward to working with eScholar to supply state education agencies with software solutions to help them meet NCLB Act reporting requirements.”
