Group 1 Releases Latest Version of Centrus Product Suite, Industry's Leading Technology for Business Geographics
Support for Red Hat Linux and Richer Set of Output Options Among Significant Enhancements to Centrus Suite
Lanham, MD — Group 1 Software (Nasdaq: GSOF) today announced significant enhancements to all of the products in its Centrus business geographics suite. Centrus offers the industry's most comprehensive, accurate and powerful software solutions for business geographics applications. Through its easily embeddable technology and wide array of third-party data sources, Centrus provides the solution to operational problems where location is critical.
The Centrus GeoStan system, which corrects, standardizes and enhances address data with spatial information, now returns a richer array of data that enables users to harness the power of third-party data even further. The solution now outputs vendor segment identifiers linked to data from leading vendors including GDT and NAVTECH as well as the Census Bureau's TIGER data. Centrus GeoStan is the choice for companies using geocoding technology to build routing engines for segment-to-segment deliveries, such as those providing newspaper delivery or telecommunications or utility services. With the ability to utilize vendor-specific segment identifiers, end-user organizations, as well as other companies building routing engines, will be able to make routes more accurate and thereby provide improved customer service. Centrus GeoStan also now outputs block suffixes using the U.S. Census Bureau's TIGER 2002 data, arming GeoStan users with the most up-to-date spatial intelligence for use in organizational decision-making processes.
The Centrus suite's support for Linux has been enhanced. All Centrus products now run on Red Hat Linux, a leading provider of open source technology for organizations of all sizes. Additionally, Centrus AddressBroker, a client/server solution that incorporates Centrus core business geographics functionality, has been fine-tuned with a number of architectural improvements. AddressBroker users will notice dramatic improvements in processing speed on multiprocessor machines, and customers running the technology on Unix will benefit from enhanced speed and stability.
“The enhancements we have made to our core solutions enable our customers and partners to get greater value from their investments in Centrus technology,” said Steve Walden, vice president and general manager of Group 1's Centrus division. “I am very pleased that we now have the full resources of Group 1 Software behind us. Consequently, we will continue to build upon our technology to meet the market's future geocoding and business geographics needs better than any other vendor.”
