City of Sacramento Selects Group 1's
DOC1 Suite To Compose Utility Bills

DOC1 to Be Used to Enhance Look and Feel of Customer Bills and to Meet Evolving Business Requirements

Lanham, MD — Group 1 Software (Nasdaq: GSOF) today announced that the city of Sacramento has selected Group 1's DOC1 Suite to design and generate its utility bills. The DOC1 suite integrates best-of-breed technology to enable businesses to manage the entire document lifecycle, from content design, generation, and presentment to archive, retrieval and electronic payment.

The city has licensed the document composition components of the DOC1 suite, which enable users to create personalized communications quickly for both print and electronic delivery. The city will use DOC1 to generate over 120,000 bills monthly for Sacramento's utility services customers. DOC1 will be integrated with the city's PeopleSoft Customer Information System (CIS).

“With DOC1, we will be able to enhance the appearance of our customer bills by making them more user-friendly and easier to understand,” said Margaret Freeman, CIS project manager at the city of Sacramento. “We selected the technology because it gives us the flexibility to add DOC1 modules, such as electronic bill presentment and payment (EBPP) technology, as our needs evolve. Additionally, we were encouraged by conversations with joint DOC1-PeopleSoft customers who are realizing substantial benefits with DOC1.”

“We are very pleased that the city has selected DOC1 to improve its utility bills,” said Alan Slater, president of Group 1's DOC1 Division. “DOC1 helps a number of utilities generate easy-to-understand bills that communicate key messages and reduce incoming customer service calls.”
