Six Telefónica Subsidiaries In Latin America
Select Group 1's DOC1 Suite for Document Generation
Business Units of Leading Portuguese and Spanish Language Telecommunications Provider Look to Group 1 1 to Generate Customer-Friendly Bills and Statements
Lanham, MD — Group 1 Software (Nasdaq: GSOF) today announced that Telefónica subsidiaries in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Mexico, Peru and Puerto Rico have selected Group 1's DOC1 suite for document generation. The DOC1 suite integrates best-of-breed technology to enable businesses to manage the entire document lifecycle, from content design, generation, and presentment to archive, retrieval and electronic payment. With over 82 million customers and a market presence in nearly 50 countries, Telefónica is the leading telecommunications operator in the Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking world.
The six Telefónica business units have licensed the document composition components of the DOC1 suite, which enable users to create personalized communications quickly for both print and electronic delivery. Additionally, its subsidiaries in Argentina, Mexico, Peru and Puerto Rico are implementing DOC1's archival component. This technology offers real-time storage, compression and high-speed retrieval of business documents, enabling users to archive and view millions of documents and maintain years of historical billing and statement data online.
"During an on-site pilot project, the DOC1 composition engine met our internal production requirements of generating one thousand pages per second," said Edson Chavez, billing systems manager of the ATIS project at Telefónica Brazil - Telesp. "DOC1 is being used corporate-wide by other Telefónica subsidiaries and we're confident that it meets our current and future document generation needs."
