Group 1 Software Enhances DataSight,
Its Flagship Data Quality Solution
DataSight Now Provides Comprehensive Out-of-the-Box Support for Non-Name and Address Data
Lanham, MD — Group 1 Software (Nasdaq: GSOF) today announced the release of DataSight 3.0, the new version of its flagship data quality software solution. DataSight now offers even more robust out-of-the-box support for non-name and address data. Additionally, DataSight has been integrated with Group 1's HotData hosted services, letting users verify and enrich business and consumer information as needed via the Internet. DataSight provides enterprise-wide correction, validation, and enhancement of customer, prospect and supplier data, helping businesses consolidate disparate data to achieve an accurate single customer view for greater return from technology investments.
DataSight's strengthened non-name and address data support includes enhanced validation, standardization, parsing, matching and consolidation of phone numbers, part numbers, dates, social security numbers, credit card numbers, email addresses and any customer-defined data elements. In conjunction with DataSight's centralized business rule repository, this functionality provides business and technical users complete control over all data quality processes.
Group 1 has also integrated DataSight into its HotData hosted services, enabling users to derive greater value from data quality processes by verifying and augmenting consumer and business information over the Web. HotData provides international address verification, enriched business and geographic profiles, and change of address and area code updating. New to HotData - and available in DataSight - are phone append and reverse phone append, which help organizations maintain current and actionable business and consumer phone numbers. With the integration of this functionality with DataSight, users have the unrivaled flexibility to leverage Internet technology to access the most up-to-date information for utilization in enterprise systems.
“Businesses are increasingly looking for data quality solutions that can be used by power users and business and marketing users,” said Doug Laney, vice president, META Group. “Technologies that offer user the ability to validate and enrich internal customer data using the Internet will provide the flexibility many businesses desire in an enterprise data quality solution.”
DataSight now also offers easy-to-read data quality summary reports, allowing users to identify and understand at a glance their important data quality issues. Consequently, customers can adjust data quality processes as needed for optimal results. Companies can now more easily connect DataSight to their source data through Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) support. Data can now be read more easily from internal systems, thereby reducing implementation time by eliminating manual processes associated with field definition and record layout importation.
Group 1 has reengineered DataSight's graphical user interface to accelerate configuration, set-up, and execution of data quality processes for both business and technical users. While business users will find DataSight even easier to use and its interface more intuitive, technical users still enjoy the complete ability to control, fine-tune and optimize all data quality processes.
“DataSight is helping business and technical users leverage their investments in enterprise technology systems by enhancing the integrity of the data supporting these important systems,” said Bob Bowen, CEO of Group 1 Software. “The significant enhancements we have made to DataSight will make the technology even more attractive to companies requiring a complete enterprise data quality solution.”
DataSight enables companies to increase operational efficiency, make more informed business decisions and maximize customer lifetime value and return on investment from CRM initiatives. DataSight is also offered in real-time (DataSight RT) for businesses that need to ensure the accuracy of data as it enters the enterprise from a variety of real-time sources, including Web servers, call centers, and order entry systems.
